Friendly host, lovely location. Easy access, it's got just about what you need for a short stay. The log burner keeps you warm if it gets chilly. The hot tub is great, but dont think you can switch a switch and it's hot. You need to plan. If you want a hot tub for your first evening, (which is a great way to unwind) you need to light the fire when Read moreyou get there. Even before you unpack, and if you want a before breakfast dip put some logs in before bedtime. It's all part of the experience. Hide

This little shepherd's hut has everything you need and more. We had a much needed long weekend break with our dog, who was safely contained in her own garden. The hot tub takes a lot of joint work to chop wood and stoke the fire, but boy oh boy was it worth it! We had a soak under the moon and it was still hot enough for a sunrise dip. The view is Read moretypical of the Carmarthen Fans and close to loads of beautiful walks. We visited Dinefwr twice and had Sunday lunch at the Red Lion, Llandybie. Hide

We loved our stay at the Shepherds hut. The location was lovely and very peaceful and it gave us time to relax and unwind..We went on beautiful walks with the dog. The hot tub was fun. The hut is well equipped for the size and we were able to cook basic meals. Penny was a great host, gave us privacy but on hand if we had questions and very helpful Read moreand friendly. The hut is small but we were warm and comfortable and were lucky to spend quite a lot of time outside. Thank you for a lovely holiday. Hide

Lovely location and really dog friendly. Wood fired hot tub takes some effort but worth it.

Great little place for a get away had a really relaxing time, host was very helpful and helped us with anything we needed. The welcome pack with all the local shops and cafes was a nice touch aswell, sitting in the hot tub at night you could literally see every star, my girlfriend loved it!

Most peaceful 7nts, the Hut was equipped with all the essentials and was clean and comfortable. We took our 3 small dogs and had plenty of room. The Hot tub was a nice bonus and we were able to enjoy it after a good few hours of a roaring fire to heat it up you just have to be patient and keep it lit. The WiFi Dongle worked well when placed on the Read morewindow ledge but it was nice to be without a tv. We took a radio & books. We drove when going out anywhere to explore. Fab glamping holiday thanks. Hide

Shepshed hut was all round ok at best, it is not a hot tub at all, takes far to long to heat up and this element was taken away from our weekend, lovely location for getting to key areas to visit, if a hot tub quiet weekend is what you are looking for I would not recommend at all.
Daniel
We really enjoyed our stay at the Shepard's hut, great for the dogs, lots of walks near by.
Victoria
Fantastic location and really friendly owners. Not much signal so great for a holiday to get away from it all! Location also great as not far to lots of fun things to do :) beautiful and quiet! Hot tub was also great - worth sticking with the time for the first heat (about three hours) as after that didnt take long to re-heat it any of the days!
Rebecca
Beautiful location, very quiet and lovely views. There is no signal here, this is great for most but as I went alone on the trip I would have liked to have some signal. The hot tub is a lovely idea but as others have said very faffy so I did not end up using it as after a few hours the water was still not warm. None of the above are really negativeRead mores, just wasn't the best place for myself personally. Hide

We absolutely loved our week in the shepherds hut...our 3 spaniels had an amazing time too. It was great to relax knowing the dogs were in a safe space. We did try the hot hub, it took 5 hours to get the water to a comfortable temperature. The little log burner in the hut was absolutely brilliant....very cosy evenings. We loved the shepherds hut with the small log fire and hot tub, ideal for interchangeable weather. Perfect enclosed area for the dog and lots of walks nearby. Well located - away from the world but main roads accessible after not too long a drive. The hut was really clean and there are some games to play. Lovely, enjoyed every mintue. Hot tub a bit of a palava, took a long time to get hot, took a lot of time and patience. This is a fabulous shepherd's hut, so cosy and inviting. We had a lovely time despite the constant rain every day, and were warm and dry inside the hut in the evenings. Really nice stay away. Host was really lovely and accommodating to us. Nice to get away from reality for a few days and plenty of places to take our dogs for a walk. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a little getaway trip. Was nice to be without signal to just enjoy and take it all in.

A lovely Shepherds Hut, perfect for 2 and your dog. Amazing hot tub and a never-ending supply of logs to keep the tub, log burner and bbq going. Simply equiped for cooking (2 rings and a microwave). WiFi interesting! Happy to recommend and would book again.
Karen
A lovely, cute hut. We had a lovely time. The bed is so comfy. The setting is lovely too. If you want peace, this is it. We loved the fact that we were shut off from the world - no mobile signal and no TV. You can get mobile signal outside the hut if that is important to you. The doggies enjoyed the outdoor area - it isn't big but enough to mooch. Read moreWe just relaxed the whole time. The Beacons hot tub retreat was quaint, secluded, cosy and peaceful. My husband, our dog Crystal and I stayed for one week end of August, even though the weather was not great we had an amazing time, especially relaxing in the hot tub after exploring.

Lovely wee shepherd's hut with everything you need for your break. Located on an Equestrian yard but not overlooked, very private with beautiful view of the countryside, good base for exploring the Brecon Beacons and Carmarthenshire. Nice enclosed space for the dogs to roam at the hut too. Wood fired hot tub is very relaxing after a long day explor ing. It does take roughly 4hrs for it to warm up but well worth it. Hosts, Penny and Tim were very nice and made us feel very welcome.
Lucy
Lovely little hut, great hot tub bit tricky to light sometimes but definitely worth it! Gorgeous view and location

Really nice place if your looking for a quiet break away from the modern world this is the place the views are amazing and it's very quiet not far from nice walks and scenic views. Penny and Tim were fantastic hosts. In the Hot tub at night looking at the stars is perfect relaxation.

Fantastic 4 night stay here on 29.06.23. The hut was clean and cozy. Perfect little getaway for myself, husband and our 2 dogs. The welcome pack on dining table came in great use. The owners were lovely and very helpful. The hut is set just on the outskirts of an esquestrian centre and is hidden out of the way so feels very private with some beautif ul views. We used the hot tub only once .You really do need to be generous with logs to get it to a good heat. Loved our time here Lots to see locally
Ella
Cosy shepherds hut but big enough to accommodate us and 3 medium sized dogs. Great to be able to relax knowing the dogs were safe in the fenced garden. Lovely views and walks near by if you can find the footpaths. Maps were provided in the hut. 5 mins from a small town with take aways and a Co op. The hut has a microwave and double electric hob. Fr iendly welcome from the owner. V peaceful location. Wood fired hot tub worth the effort and still warm the next morning.
Sarah

Wow - such a beautiful place to escape life. Loved the walks, log fire , hot tub and the quietness. We ventured to carreg cennen castle which was a lovely walk. Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay.

Beautiful secluded stay. If you want to be completely off grid, this is the place to stay. No WiFi, minimal phone signalno distractions. We took out three dogs, outside area is secure for the dogs to roam without worry. Decking is perfect for alfresco dining. The hot tub takes work, but is worth the effort. Penny and Tim were very helpful with rect ifying a couple of minor issues we had. The hut is very well equipped, would highly recommend.
Laura
Beautiful shepherd's hut equipped with everything we needed. The little log burner was effective at keeping us warm and cosy even in winter. The private and secure area around the hut and hot tub were perfect for our dogs too. We loved our stay.
